| Gohan, along with his father and Vegeta travel off to find Babidi and stop Buu when the Supreme Kai finds them and begs for their help. The four warriors fly to Babidi’s spaceship and proceed to fight through all the stages before finally Supreme Kai blows up the ship in an attempt to destroy Buu before he can get all of his energy. This is where Vegeta is possessed and goes to fight Goku while it’s up to Gohan to fight Dabura and then afterwards Buu.Gohan gets his butt handed to him by Buu and is presumed dead by everyone on earth. They soon discover he is alive and he’s transported to the planet of the Kais where he is given the Z Sword. With this supposed sword, he should have the power to destroy Buu, but while practicing with the Sword, he breaks it into pieces releasing the Elder Kai.
Now more powerful than even Super Buu, Gohan fights the pink monster and almost defeats him, but is tricked by the Magical Beast and absorbed. It takes the combined effort of both Goku and Vegeta in their fused state to free him. After the Buu Saga Gohan retires to a peaceful life with his family until he is needed once more in Dragonball GT. |

The lder Kai, who is even more of a pervert than Master Roshi, releases the inner and secret power of Gohan transforming him into his Mystic Gohan form. The Elder Supreme Kai informs Gohan now that he has unlocked his true inner potential that he can no longer turn into his Super Saiyan form. Of course this really means nothing since his new form is even stronger than Goku’s Super Saiyan Level 3 form.

| In the Hyperbolic time chamber, Goku begins to train his son personally. During the whole training process, Gohan has doubts that he will ever become a Super Saiyan or even close to being as strong as his dad, but Goku continues to train him none the less. In order to achieve the Super Saiyan state, one has to become so angry and filled with rage that the energy derived from it puts them over the top.So during a duel between Goku and Gohan while training, Goku fires a Kamehameha at his son who meets it head on. He thinks back to all the times he let his friends down while fighting, whether is was the fight with Vegeta or on the Planet Namek. These thoughts entered his mind and plagued his heart to the point where he couldn’t hold them back. His rage exploded outwards and took the form of the Super Saiyan.
Gohan was the only Saiyan out of all the Saiyans to have the Super Saiyan state for only a few months before he achieved the next highest state of “Ascended Saiyan” or Super Saiyan level 2. Although Super Saiyan Level 2 is the highest state he ever achieves, excluding the Mystic state he achieves which really has absolutely nothing to do with a Super Saiyan. |

From this point on, Gohan learned to control his new power and mastered it in the one year he was in the Hyperbolic time chamber with his father. Goku and Gohan even learned the ability to stay in the Super Saiyan state for days at a time, practicing their Ki consumption.

| At a very young age, Gohan proved to have the potential of being one of the greatest warriors ever to grace earth. Being only 4 years old he became more powerful than his father had been even at 3 times his age. Sensing his father was in danger during the fight with Raditz, Gohan broke free from his pod prison and attacked Raditz, his uncle, and raised his Power Level to over 700 where Goku’s had only been at 408.After this fight Gohan was taken away by Piccilo to be trained personally. But first, Piccilo left the boy out in the wilderness to just try and survive. Of course, this experience made him ten times stronger but not necessarily more brave as he chickened out throughout most of the fight with Nappa and the other Z fighters. Although, after Piccilo saved Gohan’s life by taking an energy blast from Nappa that was meant for Gohan, Gohan seemed to find the courage to become a real fighter.
This is the last time Gohan does anything worth while in the Dragonball Z series until he reaches his next form, Super Saiyan… |

His next large transformation came from when he was battling on Namek trying to find he Namekian Dragonballs to wish everyone back to life. He met up with the old Namek Guru who unlocked his untapped energy raising him to the Power Level of 24,000. He then becomes uber strong during the fights between the Ginyu Force and Vegeta and even raises his Power Level to the point that beats Freeza in one of his highest forms which is easily in the millions.

Well, about Mystic Gohan, he is not stronger than Goku Level 3. He may be close, almost equal, but not stronger. There are two things that tell that:
1) This may be not so accurate, due to translation issues, but in the latin version, Goku tells to Majin Boo, after he looses the absorbed Gotenks fusion “Even Gohan can take you down now”, with “even” meaning “Super Saiyan 3 is not needed, is too much”. But ok, this may be not accurate.
2) This one is more accurate: in Hildeggan movie (last from DBZ), Gohan fights the demon with his Mystic transformation, but is unable to do something about it. Goku wins using SS3. So, according to that movie, Goku SS3 is stronger. However, this is a movie, not based on manga.
Anyhow, I think that everything points that Gohan is NOT stronger than Goku SS3.

Why do people think SSJ3 is stronger than mystic. There is little to no evidence. The only evidence is that kid buu is said to be the most “dangerous” of all Buu’s forms and Goku was said to have the power to instantly defeat Kid Buu. Supporting Mystic > SSJ3 is the fact that Goku didn’t want to fight Super Buu, the same buu gohan thrashed, even with Vegeta’s help unless they fused together. He stated that Gotenks was stronger than him and Gotenks was equal to or a little stronger than super buu. Of course, Goku said that he could have beaten the fat buu if he wanted to, but the fight wasn’t as nearly one-sided as the Gohan vs Superbuu fight.
Here is another thing to think about. If Kid Buu is Buu’s most dangerous form, then he must be stronger than Gohan Buu (the superbuu that absorbed Gohan). Gohan Buu is stronger than Gotenks Buu. If this is true, then why didn’t Goku just beat Gotenks Buu? Instead he wanted to fuse with Gohan using the Potora earings which would permanently fuse them together. If Goku was stronger than Gotenks Buu then why would he be willing to screw up the rest of his and his son’s life by permanently fusing together in order to beat a foe he could easily defeat on his own? The reason is that Goku was not nearly as strong as Gotenks Buu, meaning kid buu is weaker than Gotenks Buu. If you say that since Kid Buu is the most dangerous form of Buu then he is the strongest, he would have to be stronger than Gotenks Buu and Gohan Buu. I have already proved above that this isn’t so, so most dangerous cannot mean most strongest, meaning we have to gauge kid buu’s and goku’s power on the statements made earlier about Goku’s power: that he is a little stronger than fat buu, weaker than gotenks, weaker than super buu, who Gohan easily beat, and finally a whole lot weaker than Gohan.

Guys, you have seen all episodes of DBZ, but i didn’t, we all know that Goku is tha strongest because he is not a half blood saiyan like gohan, trunks,goten and lil trunks. vegeta would have been, but not a half blooded saiyan. so ss3 goku is stronger than mystic gohan. it dn’t matter if goku is a little bit stronger by just surpassing gohan by one figure power level. his the strongest!.

Here is some evidence that Mystic Gohan is a lot stronger than Goku SSJ3:
-When Goku and Vegeta were fighting Kid Buu, Vegeta wanted to use the dragon balls and Goku said:”I bet you’re getting Gohan and Gotenks to fight aren’t you? *With a smile on his face*” So he’s implying that Gotenks and Gohan are stronger than he is.
-Goku was only a bit stronger than Fat Buu. Even though he wasn’t fighting with his full potential, Piccolo said: “The harder Goku fights the more Majin Buu’s strength increases, there seems to be no end to it!” And Super Buu is a lot stronger than Fat Buu and Gohan wasn’t even close to trying and he kicked Super Buu’s ass.
-EVEN IF Mystic Gohan and Goku SSJ3 were equally matched (which they aren’t) then Goku would become tired very quickly and couldn’t dream of beating Gohan.
- And about that Spanish version comment, I think he said even Gohan can beat you now meaning we don’t have to fuse anymore in order to beat you, make sense?
-And Kid Buu is the most dangerous Buu form because he’s a complete lunatic, even more insane than the previous Buus. But he’s not stronger than Super Buu.

Goku could even beat Cell at the Cell Games saga. He just wanted Gohan to beat Cell, so that Goku could go to another dimension to go beyond a level possible in the ‘living’ dimension.

ok here goes. its all a matter of opinion really. i believe super saiyin 3 goku IS stronger than majin buu, evil majin buu, buu (majin buu and evil majin buu fused together), and super buu (buu after losing gotenks fusion). i also believe mystic gohan IS stronger than all of those buu forms as well. so mathematically the end result probably is that they are equal in power, but dont forget goku LOVES to fight thus has WAY more SKILL and gohan does not. so with that being said its probably goku who is the stronger even though gohan is WAY more bad ass (at least from the later half of the cell games saga to the beginning half of the fusion saga any other time throughout the series hes retarded).
if you think about it, the story for dbz took a nose dive after the freiza saga, even though the trunks saga through cell games saga was the best out of all 500 something episodes. after freiza the crew knew about the bad guys 3 years before hand, but didnt want to do anything about it… DUMB. the androids didnt work together to stop cell 1… STUPID. escended ss trunks didnt kill cell 2… WTF. goku didnt kill majin buu when it was technically him and vegitas fault he came back in the first place… AAARGH. and i cant remember for sure but didnt goku kill kid buu without even turning ss at the end, yeah his spirit bomb was created by everything on the earth, but wasnt the one he used on freiza the power of like a bunch of planets… HEAD EXPLODING. and everthing, AND I DO MEAN EVERYTHING about dbgt was just shameful and nonsensicull

Ummm. mystic gohan was way stronger than buu. the problem is that gohan hadnt trained seriously in 7 years and his fighting technique was horrible. but keep in mind that super buu (evil/skinn buu and fat buu fused) was way stronger than fat buu.

The problem here is most people tend to “ignore” the pieces of evidence that doesn’t help his/her favorite character. Lets clear this up then (these are 10 points that calrify everything in the Majin Saga).
In order:
1-Goku fought Fat Buu, BUT, remember WHY he did it. From the begining, it was NEVER his intention to defeat him, he clearly said that because he wasn’t part of the living anymore, it wasn’t right for everyone to keep relying on him everytime a new enemy appeared, so he WANTED the Gohan & kids to be the ones to do it from now on. He faced Fat Buu only to BUY TIME for Trunks to get the Dragon Radar, remember? He was holding back almost all his power.
2-Skinny Buu appeared and absorbed Fat Buu, which turned him into Super Buu. Now this is the tricky part: Just as what happened with Kid Buu, Piccolo NEVER said Buu had become “stronger” (ie: higher power level), he said that unlike his previous good-natured form (Fat Buu), this one was purely evil and wanted nothing but to fight, so he would be tougher to handle. Buu’s 3 main forms (Im obviously not counting Buu-tenks & Buu-han) don’t suffer from an increase in power level (that would be ridiculous, as he’s not aborbing anyone new, its the SAME sum of powers on each form) what changes however, is the amount of EVILNESS regaining control over his mind, which makes him more “dangerous” than the previous form.(the Supreme Kai’s absorption caused him to develop a “good-natured” conciousness which “sealed” his max power)
3-After Mystic Gohan arrived at the battlefield, Super Buu said that he had felt his energy from a faraway place and “played around” with Gotenks until he (Gohan) arrived. This means Gotenks was never a real match for Super Buu, as he was only waiting for Gohan.
4-Gohan trashed Super Buu, which means he was much stronger, BUT this is no evidence to prove he had surpassed SSJ3 Goku, as Goku (at full power, not fooling around) was stated to be MUCH strongner than Fat Buu, which means he was also stronger than Super Buu. After Buu absorbed Gotenks and then Gohan, he became MUCH stronger than ANYONE but Vegetto. So there’s no contest there. Yeah, that’s to clarify for those who still think Kid Buu is the strongest form of Buu…he’s not. Kid Buu has roughly the same power as Super Buu, but because he is the TRUE and PURE Buu, he was a completely umpredictable, mindless-killing machine, which made him more “dangerous” and MUCH harder to handle than “regular” Super Buu. (Up until this point, there was no way to know if Goku or Gohan is stronger)
5-Goku was NEVER reluctant to fight “regular” Super Buu. After Elder Kai unlocked Gohan’s power, it was his turn to go and back up Gotenks (remember Goku’s intention was always to have either Gohan or Gotenks be the ones to defeat Buu). HOWEVER lets be clear, Goku was CONVINCED that even if Vegeta and him went against Buu-han (Gohan absorbed) together, they would still lose, and yet, against Kid Buu, he was confident that he could defeat him: Moral: Buu-tenks & Buu-han are WAY stronger than the regular Buu forms, as the new absorptions add up the power level.
6-After Goku & Vegeta rescued everyone from inside Buu (but were still inside him) Buu started attacking them from the inside (which gave him the ability to control all the surroundings, an obvious advantage). Then Vegeta ripped Fat Buu from inside Super Buu…and THIS is where things get interesting: Immidiately after losing Fat Buu, Super Buu started a new transformation, BUT, he didn’t become Kid Buu immidiately, first he became “Ultra Buu” (the giant-musclebound form of Buu, which is a TEMPORAL form that symbolizes Buu’s power had gone highwire) and it was Ultra Buu’s power which made Goku comment that they should fuse before going out, or Buu would beat them, as Ultra Buu’s transformation was furiously releasing all the power stored inside him from all his forms, which of course for Goku’s & Vegeta’s “radar” felt as an ENORMOUS power level (they didn’t know that it would be a temporal state and thought Buu would remain like that).
7-After that Buu “stabilized” into Kid Buu, and because of his maller size and APPARENT calm state, made Goku & Vegeta believe he had become weaker than his previous form (Super Buu)…which was not the case. Although the power level was the same as Supre Buu’s, he had now became a MINDLESS killer, who was also apparently indifferent to pain and had unlimited energy (for some reason, from all his forms, only Kid Buu seemed to be TIRELESS…which means we can attribute this trait to his insanity)
8-Here things become even MORE interesting. Before the battle starts, Goku FINALLY admits openly that he was far from serious against Fat Buu, and that he continued to be as long as either Gohan or the kids were still there, as he wanted THEM to finish off Buu. It wasn’t until Buu absorbed Gotenks and started beating up Gohan, that he decided to be serious. However, when Gotenks DEFUSED inside Buu and he lost A LOT of his power, he clearly said: “Hmph, that’s a shame…even Gohan can take you down now”…EVEN Gohan…which is the FIRST hint that makes people re-consider the sitution.
9-Now, the OTHER controversy here is about why didn’t Goku finish up Kid Buu, even though he clearly outmached him. It is the ANIME which confuses everything with the whole “need time to build up enough power to finish off Buu”…which was wrong. In the manga, Vegeta’s sharp senses actually discovered what Goku was doing: Because both of them (Goku & Vegeta) had discarded the new set of Potara earrings in favor of fighting like TRUE Saiyans against Buu, Goku, out of respect for that choice, actually DRAGGED on his fight to let Vegeta have his own chance at fighting Buu (which didn’t have favorabe results…) AND this is what caused the whole problem: Goku did this, because he DIDN’T KNOW (he’s an idiot I know) that now that he was ALIVE again, he wouldn’t be able to quickly recover the energy he had wasted by fighting Kid Buu as a SSJ3 (it is a VERY tiring tranformation, but in the other world, energy is unlimited, so he never had problems with it before) and it was THIS mistake, which caused his “2nd round” with Kid Buu to be not as “one-sided” as the first one. He screwed his chance to defeat him instantly, but he had enough power to do so.
10-FINALLY (this is the part everyone was waiting for), as Goku was fighting Kid Buu for the 2nd time, Vegeta began his memorable speech about how he FINALLY realized what made Goku better than him and why was he the true N#1 (I actually cried at this scene). And then he, who had previously claimed to have seen EVERY battle since he died against Fat Buu, openly stated: “Kakarot, you’re te ONLY one who can fight him” which means that Kid Buu’s “traits” made him so different and DANGEROUS, that even if his power level was roughly the same as Super Buu’s, this time Gohan wouldn’t be able to handle him and only Goku would. This is even expanded after they revive everyone and Vegeta STILL says that bringing Gohan would be useless, clearly convinced that, only Goku could match this new, pure instinct-driven beast.
So, my friends, for those who like it and those who don’t, the OBJECTIVE, final veredict is that although the Mystic powerup made Gohan REALLY strong, he was only REALLY close to SSJ3 Goku, but didn’t actually matched his full power, as Goku was HOLDING BACK for most of the arc, and didn’ show his true power until he faced an enemy even Vegeta said Gohan wouldn’t be able to handle. Hope this clears everything.
hello, i wish to help but would not like to take a side because i would like goku to be the strongest but it unfrtunately doesnt appear that way.
When goku transformed into a super sayian 3, he was stronger than majin buu. And you must realize that he was a newly transformed super sayian 3 reached the bare minimum power of a super sayian 3. When goku frst transformed into a super sayian he was very weak for a super sayain compare to goku at the cell games.
Secondly, Goku was stronger than majin buu but not the fused evil buu. A fused super sayain 3 was as strong as this new buu. Now to anyone that watched DBZ would assume ssj3 goku is stronger than ssj3 gotenks just because its goku. evil buu, or fused buu or whatever anyone calls him could not even touch mystic gohan. It was only when he absorbed a power equal to his was able to defeat gohan.
Goku was training in other world after we had to leave, meaning his super sayian 3 abilites were being greatened, so when he did fight kid buu he wa much stronger.
Now Gohan is the strongest character in all of DBZ unfused of course. He surpasses the ssj3 abilites even when trained. ( it doesnt mean i am saying ssj4 is weaker, im saying in DBZ not GT).
I only believe this because even the creaters say this. “Gohan’s latent power is finally released to its fullest extent in the Fusion Saga, making him the second strongest Z Fighter in the manga (behind Vegito), and the strongest character in the manga to be unaided by fusion or absorption as stated by Akira Toriyama in the second Daizenshuu, on page 114″

It still troubles me to believe gohan was stronger because if he was why didnt goku just use his instant transmittions to get back to earth get gohan and then go back to the world he was on to battle buu.

look on youtube for super saiyan 3 goku vs mystic gohan and it shows all the evidence u’ll need that mystic gohan is the strongest good guy in dbz… excluding vegito and gogeta… akira toriyama stated that himself…… cuz originally gohan was to become ‘the new goku’ per say….. in the manga/comics goku even admits to vegeta after they pull everyone out of buu (wen he’s super buu normally again, not turning into kid buu yet) that they still were no match for him even working together.. theres more but seriously look it up on youtube or something… goku may seem close to mystic but thats def only cuz gohan may be way more powerful but has nowhere near the fighting experience or training that goku has… i mean he even stopped training (which really pissed me off cuz gohan’s the bom)

Goku is the strongest simply proven that he was able to beat kidd buu, which was stated to be the strongest manifestation of Buu. No one else could beat him. And plus the show stated that in each transformation he became weaker with the exception of kidd buu. Which means SS3 Goku could beat Vegitto and everyone else in DBZ

Forigner and weet that is where you are wrong. kid buu was not the strongest version of majin buu. He was the deadliest because he was pure evil, but he was not the strongest. When he absorbed gohan or even gotenks, he did not become weaker, his power skyrocketed… leave it to experts to speak.
ok everybody, goku did beat kid buu yes but remember he didnt do it on his own. he needed help from people to make that spirit bomb. and before that goku was holding his own against with kid buu in super saiyan 3 mode but he never dominated the fight and was getting tired while buu stayed fresh the whole time and seemed undamaged throughout the fight because of his quick regenerative abilities, a trait that all the buu forms had.mystic gohan was the only one that seemed to be doing real damage and actually tiring buu out and totally dominated him in a pure one on one battle with no help and he wasnt even showing any signs of fatigue.kid buu and super buu have the same power and strength but the only thing that set em apart was kid buus insanity which makes him more dangerous. but the way gohan dominated super buu, the insane nature wouldnt do much against gohan cuz gohan is still stronger and faster. why they didnt just teleport gohan to fight kid buu in the end there was only one reason, IT WOULDNT have been as epic. there were so many ways they coulda beat kid buu especially while having the dragonballs but it had to be by gokus hands. goku may have been the one to pull the trigger on buu (even he almost got the spirit bomb pushed back to himself and needed help from the dragon to win) yes but mystic gohan is still strongest and coulda beaten kid buu without help
Mystic gohan makes no sense, gohan already had his powers released from grand patriarch namek, 100% of 100% makes no sense just like in yuyu hackucho when toguro said this is 100% of the 100%, sucks. If we are going to play that way then release the powers of goten, trunks and broly, and is more than possible since if even krillin has hidden powers, why not elite saiyans like goten, trunks and of course broly.
For me, Mystic gohan marked the very end of DBZ, both in originality and interesting story.
I like teen gohan but hate to hell adult gohan and specially the come up of mystic gohan, then why don´t we just release the power of the other saiyans

How is its so hard to understand that Gohan is the strongest. I am not going to repeat all the above but what is most important that it was explicitly stated by Toriyama in the Daizenshuu that Mystic Gohan is the strongest. Anyone who still thinks Goku is the strongest obviously believes that the creator of DBZ is a liar.
The confusion is coming from the fact that Goku beat kid Buu at end despite the fact he could have easily gotten Gohan via instant transmission. Goku might have lost if it was not for the wish that restored him to full power. He did not know that the wish was going to be granted. So, it follows that if he did not get full power back the spirit bomb would have not worked, then he would have had to go get Gohan, hypothetically. Well, Toriyama was planning on making Gohan the main protagonist after the Cell saga but fans complained that they wanted it to be Goku. So, it makes sense it is confusing that Mystic Gohan is stronger because if it weren’t for outside pressure on Toriyama it might have been Gohan who beat Buu.
Its really not that hard. Gohan has always been the best since the begining. With Raditz he saved goku and even had a higher power level than goku. Against Vegeta who really beat Vegeta because goku was on the ground as Gohan transformed into a giant ape. Frieza saga showed once again Gohan beat frieza down in every transformation he had. The best saga was The Cell saga as we finally saw that Gohan really was the best. Goku did try he did an instant kamehameha and it didint really hurt cell. And goku was Drained. Goku even gave Cell a senzue bean. Gohan just dominated cell in every way possible. Goku couldint evn beat a Cell J.R. The Buu Saga Mystic Gohan was the Strongest Non Fused Saiyen. He dominated super buu and could have beat Fused buu but Fused Buu had Piccilo mind and used it against Gohan. Another even in Ss3 Goku was terrified to Fight Fused Buu and the only reason he hit buu was Because Buu was distracted with gohan trying to find the other earing. In the kai planet goku could not beat kid buu He needed his power rufueled and he could not reach his top form while vegeta tried stalling. If goku would have brought gohan up to fight buu Gohan would have raped. But No because Goku just loves fighting and cant stand being on the sidelines. Gohan will always be the Best and WHo ever thinks goku is stronger is dumb.
mystic gohan is stronger then ssj3 goku. quit talkin in spanish please or porfavor (sorry if i didn’t spell that right) and to the person who talked about the cell saga listen when goku is talking to the kais and one says that piccon beat both freiza and cell easy goku says freiza was no problem but cell was very hard or something like that
look even if ssj3 goku is less powerful than gohans mystic transformation it doesnt matter becasue goku is still stronger casue goku can go ssj4
