History: Created by Dr. Gero in the early years of the Red Ribbon Army, Android #8 was one of the very first androids to be created. His power is almost nothing compared to the likes of Android 16 through 20, but still in the time of his debut in Dragonball, he was still a powerful force.

Android #8 is first seen when Goku invades the Muscle Tower to free the village that is pressed under their power. While climbing to the top of the tower he encounters the mechanical monster (who can easily be seen as a Frankenstein monster clone) who starts to fight. But after hurting Goku only a little bit, the behemoth decides to stop, stating that he wishes to hurt no one and just leave a peaceful quiet life.

Goku respects this but the runner of the tower, General White, refuses to accept this and demands that Android kill Goku or he will detonate the bomb that has been installed in the Android. Android #8 fears his own death and wants nothing more to live and contemplates killing Goku for his own well being. But in the end, his conscience gets the better of him and he decides rather to aide Goku in his fight rather than fight against him.

General White goes to press the button on his controller when Goku jumps up and knocks the detonator from his hands destroying it in the process, freeing Android #8 from any more masters. General White is soon after disposed of and Goku asks Android #8 to stay behind to help keep the village safe from harm which he gladly accepts.

The only other time Android #8 is seen is in some filler episodes towards the end of Dragonball and once during Dragonball Z when Goku is gathering up energy in his Genki Dama or his Spirit Bomb.
