Special Attacks/Abilities: Unlimited Energy

History and Future: Like his twin sister Android 18, he too was constructed by the evil Dr. Gero to be used to take over the world. The idea of Dr. Gero’s was not to use an army of thousands to control the globe but to create a handful of powerful warriors that would have enough power to do this dirty job.

After seeing Goku defeat the Red Ribbon Army one handed, Dr. Gero knew he had to copy his example.But things go horribly wrong when Dr. Gero finally releases his two terrible Androids as Android 17 kicks off the top of Dr. Gero’s head and then crushes it underneath his feet in front of the appalled Z Warriors.

Not too much long after, Android 17 becomes the first android to be absorbed by Cell, turning Cell into his second transformation. Later on in the Cell saga, Cell blows himself up with Android 17 along with him, but luckily for 17 he is wished back to life from the Dragon Balls and disappears into the mountains to live a life as a quiet wanderer. He is only seen once more in Dragon Ball Z at the end of the Buu saga where he offers some of his own energy along with two travelers he wanders into to Goku’s Spirit Bomb.

Android 17 becomes a pivotal character later on in the Dragon Ball GT series when a clone of him is fabricated by Dr. Myu and Dr. Gero in hell. A rift is formed between the planet earth and hell which lets the scientists and the clone escape. Shortly afterwards, both 17s fuse together to form Super 17 who is unstoppable. The Z fighters are quickly taken care of and it isn’t until his sister 18 jumps into the fray that she convinces him to stop his madness.
After coming to his senses, Android 17 tells Goku how he can be defeated where Goku punches a hole though his middle finally killing him. It isn’t known what happens to Android 17 after this whether he goes to hell or not, but at the end of the series a wish is made to bring back everyone to life who had been killed since the rift was opened, so it can be speculated that he returns at this time.
